ABOUT OCCC
The Oklahoma Consumer Credit Coalition is a member-driven organization comprised of community-based, responsible installment lenders who each operate as a Supervised Lender and are regulated by the Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit. The Coalition’s members include responsible lenders who have a demonstrated history of proudly serving Oklahoma borrowers for a combined 100+ years.
The Coalition strongly believes all Oklahomans, particularly those with nonprime credit, benefit from increased access to quality non-bank credit. Its goal is to advocate for an increase in the availability of safe and affordable consumer credit at fair and reasonable rates by supporting strong regulations that will allow more Oklahomans to manage unexpected financial emergencies, build or repair credit and enjoy the benefits of financial opportunity and mobility. Such regulations will also allow community-based lenders to expand their business in the state, hire more Oklahomans and contribute in a meaningful way to the state’s revenue and tax base.
The Coalition is dedicated to collaborating with the public, particularly legislators and community advocates, when it comes to legislating, regulating, advocating and studying consumer credit in Oklahoma.

ADVOCACY
The OCCC supported passage of Senate Bill 794 by Chairman Bill Coleman.
Senate Bill 794 will expand access to safe and sustainable credit and give Oklahomans the ability to build a meaningful credit profile, which will improve their financial health and increase their access to other forms of traditional credit. In addition, such access will allow Oklahomans living in the “credit desert” to build personal household wealth and strengthen their local economies.
